At South Glens Falls
The members of MacBoston 18 Truck
would like to thank everyone that supported our 2nd annual training
seminar. This year's attendance was 146! Special thanks
to South Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company for hosting our annual
fund raiser and also to the South Glens Falls Ladies Auxiliary for
putting on a great lunch and snacks.
This years Seminar topics included:
"Tactical
Operations for Taxpayers & Strip Malls"
This class
dedicated to the lessons learned at fire in commercial occupancies.
All communities have these occupancies with light weight
construction, high fire load and large open spaces. Are you ready
for a fire in a commercial building? The fire officers’ initial
tactical decisions will dictate the success of the fire departments
operations outcome; these are not our "Bread and Butter"
operations
“Tactical
Operations for One & Two Family Private Dwellings”
This
class is a review of the tactical functions of both the engine and
truck company at fire in private residential dwellings. These are a
fire departments most common fire and most dangerous as we still are
losing firefighters at them. This class will review tactical
operations and student will learn about common mistakes made during
fires in private dwellings.
